Dad had Pulmonary Fibrosis and passed away on 16th May 2013. We gather that there is very little research into this disease, hence the reason for creating this tribute to him.

On Friday October 3rd 2008, Ady (Adrian), lost his 18 month battle with lung cancer, at home with his four special girls, which was his wish, aged 55. Never complaining, even when at his lowest and enjoyed everyday, always joking very often at himself and each morning singing like a blackbird. He found a sedatory life at times very hard.

The hospital and staff were fantastic right until the end and cared for my mother in a very dignified way. Annie Watts was an astonishing woman who coped with a terrible illness – idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire in 1937, final sibling in the huge brood of Devetta children. Her mother was a lovely warm woman and her father, who had been a coal miner, couldn’t resist auction houses.

Ansar died of pulmonary fibrosis on 29 July 2008. He was a loving father and husband, a gentle, humble, family man who did so much for those he loved and those he served. He made many friends from many walks of life, and we all remember him with love and affection.

This fund is set up to support the lung foundation to find a cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis. The fibrosis results in the lungs getting scars which would result in the lungs not being able to to take oxygen from the air and passing this effectively to the blood. The Fibrosis can be managed but a cure is yet to be discovered.

He became aware of breathing problems quite a while ago, when he was diagnosed with emphysema but only after being admitted to hospital 4 weeks ago, was it discovered that he had Pulmonary Fibrosis. He broke his hip after being home for one week, and then re-admitted to Dewsbury General Hospital for an operation.

Chris was born in Hertfordshire on 26 March 1961. He sadly died on 17 February 2015, aged 53 from pneumonia. He was suffering from fibrosis caused by Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis. My father died on the 20th November 2011 of IPF Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was 68 yrs old, he will be greatly missed x There is still no cure.....we would like the donations made to go into further research of this disease.

John was a loving father, wonderful husband and true gentleman. On the 13th August 2012 John sadly died after suffering from Pulmonary Fibrosis. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a type of lung disease which has no cure. Doctors do not know why some people contract the illness and therefore much more research is needed in this area.
